Commercial work in the Lakes is shaped by the seasons: hotels and holiday lets that need work done between bookings, farms and businesses that need a building up before winter. We build and refurbish for businesses across the area.
Tourism is the largest part of the Lake District economy, which means most commercial building here happens around guests. A hotel bathroom refit, a holiday cottage renovation or a restaurant extension is planned around bookings, with noise, access and dust controlled so the business keeps trading.
Steel-framed buildings – workshops, stores, agricultural and light industrial buildings – go up quickly and span widely, and with the right cladding and colour they sit quietly in the landscape. Dark green and grey profiled sheeting is common for a reason.
Commercial projects bring their own requirements: fire safety, accessibility, building control on a larger scale, and often a client who needs a fixed date. We plan for those from the first meeting.
Holiday lets have rules of their own. A property let to paying guests counts as non-domestic premises under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, so it needs a fire risk assessment, and the work we do – new doors, alarms, escape routes, fire-stopping between floors – is planned to keep the property compliant as well as comfortable.

Usually, yes. We plan the work in phases, control access, dust and noise, and agree working hours that suit your guests or customers.

Some farm buildings can be built under agricultural permitted development, but in the National Park extra prior-approval rules apply and many need full permission. We check before design.
Yes. Short, well-planned programmes are normal for holiday cottages here; we agree the dates with you and plan the work to fit.
They need a fire risk assessment, because a holiday let counts as non-domestic premises under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Depending on the property that can mean fire doors, linked smoke alarms, emergency lighting or fire-stopping. We build to the assessment and can recommend assessors.
